Cabanillas del Campo’s sport tracks and centre are located west of the river that runs through the town, and provide an area of public services of around 3.5 hectares. The great increase of population and the consequent demand of sport fields invited to an expansion and diversification of the number of available sports, and therefore the reorganization of the open air spaces in order to enable a more convenient and universal access. The challenge was to widen the sport range available and to combine it with the recreational areas, designated for relaxing activities or for enjoying the surroundings and views all along the river course. The proposal emphasizes the built perimeter of the site, making out of it a great vertical board game that offers new recreational opportunities.
